Man, what a year it’s been! I’ve been lucky to work on an assortment of really great projects over the last 12 months, and it was definitely one of my most successful years as a designer. Unfortunately, that meant having a lot less time to work on developing my stock image collection – which really bummed me out. But I still enjoy producing stock illustrations whenever I get the chance, and I imagine that will continue for as far as I can see. I love doing this stuff!
As I hinted on Facebook a couple months ago, I’ve never done any holiday-themed illustrations before. That’s kind of surprising to me considering that this is my favorite time of year, so I decided to do something about it. Yeah, I had grand visions of creating 100’s of beautiful Christmas and holiday-themed renderings by the end of the year, but…there just isn’t going to be enough time to accomplish that.
So far, all I’ve managed to complete were the four images you see below. It’s a bit depressing to think about how little I’ve accomplished, but I am busy with paid client work right now so I definitely can’t complain.
It may be interesting for you to know that I had fully intended to focus entirely on illustrations of Christmas tree bulbs, but I just couldn’t get them to render like I had imagined in my head. Then I tried to model holly leaves and berries (which I thought wouldn’t look good at all), and surprisingly, they turned out the best. Sometimes that’s the way it goes with this kind of stuff.
Anyway, here are four free images for you – feel free to use however you wish. Also, don’t forget that I have 5000px-wide versions of these on my online store if you need something larger. Happy holidays!
