Remember HTC? That Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer that was all the rage in the early to mid 2010s? I vaguely recall them as well – even though they’re still alive and kicking at the time of his writing.
The following is a full set of “HTC – Quietly Brilliant” 3d logos that rendered at the peak of their popularity (around 2011 or so). Showing them off to a client on a then-shiny new HTC Jetstream tablet was the perfect way to wrap this project up.
Honestly, I was never a fan of the logo. Sure, it’s clean and very readable, but it has no soul. You’ll notice that I had to add a bit of gloss and reflection to it to look halfway decent, but I probably violated every rule in their corporate design guideline book by doing so. Sometimes I gotta do what I gotta do.
finally, to close out this set, I present to you the two most “2011-style” renderings I may have ever created. Mobile phones and tablets have changed a lot over the years!
